The fleet must leave early, those going to Anacapa
should meet at no later than 8:00. Departure will be promptly at 9:00, can't
wait for stragglers on this one. The trip is about three hours each way and
it can get rough in the afternoon. Our destination is Frenchy's Cove, about
the middle of the island. If all goes well and the wind has not yet come up
there might be time to anchor for lunch.
This can be a very windy place at times and ten miles offshore in a blow is
no place for a novice so plan accordingly. Alternative to the crossing will
be to Potter around outside the harbor or sail down to Ventura for lunch and
then back.
Some may arrive Fri. night and stay in the parking lot. Guest slips and motels
are available for those that have more time.
